A New Polish Pollen Programme
(Malgorzata Latalowa)
Poland has had its own pollen database since 1987, when it was started as
part of the IGCP activities. It had been a valuable focal point for all
Polish palynologists. A new initiative was launched in June 1999. This
involves 24 palynologists in a new national mapping project that will
produce an atlas and related publications. Participation will be motivated
through a series of workshops. Funding is available for transferring old
and new pollen data to the EPD. It is hoped that 50 dated sites can be
supplied to EPD during the course of the project.
